Former Congress party Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan, didn’t hold back in his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. During a recent visit to the city, Chavan aimed several fronts, including electoral bonds, black money, unemployment, farmer distress, and corruption.

Chavan, who was in town to support Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Lok Sabha candidate Ravindra Dhangekar, voiced his discontent with the Modi government’s track record. “Normally, the ruling party presents its achievements, but PM Modi seems to favor empty promises over concrete results,” Chavan remarked.

The former CM didn’t stop there. He pointed out the government’s inaction on black money, despite mounting evidence. Chavan pledged to tackle this issue head-on if given the chance, emphasizing the public’s right to answers.

Regarding agricultural policies, Chavan criticized Modi’s promises, alleging that instead of doubling farmers’ income, the controversial laws introduced by the current administration have only worsened their plight.

Chavan also didn’t shy away from discussing the economy, asserting that under BJP’s tenure, growth has slowed down. He challenged the government’s narrative of economic pride, arguing that had growth rates matched those of previous administrations, India would rank higher globally.

Chavan’s remarks underscored growing dissatisfaction with the Modi government’s handling of critical issues, resonating with citizens concerned about the country’s future trajectory.
