The Maharashtra government has signed an agreement with Lodha Developers to set up a ₹30,000-crore Green Integrated Data Centre Park at Palava City in Dombivli, near Mumbai.

The project will cover 370 acres in Ambernath, Thane district, and is expected to create around 6,000 jobs. It will also have a planned capacity of 2 gigawatts, making it one of the largest data centre parks in the region.

This comes under the state’s Green Integrated Data Centre Parks policy, launched last year, which requires such energy-heavy facilities to run on green and renewable energy sources. Maharashtra had earlier declared data centres a priority sector for industrial growth in 2019.

The demand for data centres has surged with the rise of cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital services. The state plans to build three such parks in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

Abhishek Lodha, MD & CEO of Lodha Developers, said the project will support both the economy and sustainability goals.

“This initiative will generate jobs, promote clean energy, and help India move closer to becoming a global leader by 2047. At Lodha, we are committed to achieving net zero across all operations in the coming years,” he added.
