Maharashtra Govt Appoints IAS Officers To Drive Development Of Five Jyotirlinga Sites, Including Bhimashankar
Mumbai | August 6, 2025: In a significant move to accelerate the development of five major Jyotirlinga pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra — including Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar in Pune — the state government has appointed senior IAS officers to oversee and implement the development plans with speed and quality. The appointments were made under the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Detailed development blueprints have been prepared for each of the five Jyotirlingas, and the newly appointed officers will regularly monitor progress and submit reports to the Chief Minister.
Officers Appointed for Each Site:
- Bhimashankar (Pune) – Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, V. Radha
- Grishneshwar (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) – Additional Chief Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, B. Venugopal Reddy
- Trimbakeshwar (Nashik) – Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Saurabh Vijay
- Aundha Nagnath (Hingoli) – Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Richa Bagla
- Parli Vaijnath (Beed) – Secretary, OBC Welfare Department, Appasaheb Dhulaj
Approved Budgets for Development Projects:
- Bhimashankar: ₹148.37 crore for 11 projects
- Grishneshwar: ₹156.63 crore
- Trimbakeshwar: ₹275 crore
- Aundha Nagnath: ₹15.21 crore
- Parli Vaijnath: ₹286.68 crore for 92 projects
These plans have already received approvals through high-level committee meetings, followed by official government resolutions. This is the first time the state has appointed senior officials at the ministerial level specifically for coordination and monitoring of pilgrimage site development projects, aiming to ensure high-quality execution and timely delivery.
