Maharashtra Govt Approves New Courts For Pimpri-Chinchwad

Ajit Pawar Reviews Pune’s Ganeshotsav Readiness, Confirms Purandar Airport Progress, Promises Early Opening of Sinhagad Road Flyover
Pune | July 30, 2025 — In a significant move aimed at strengthening the judicial infrastructure in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Maharashtra state government has approved the establishment of a District and Additional Sessions Court, along with a Senior Civil Court in the rapidly growing city.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced the decision through his official social media handle, describing it as a historic milestone for the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad. He expressed satisfaction over the cabinet’s approval and extended his gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other cabinet members for supporting the proposal.
Pawar noted that Pimpri-Chinchwad, a fast-developing municipal corporation, was in urgent need of independent courts to serve its growing population. Until now, residents had to travel to Pune to access higher judicial services. The new courts will significantly ease the legal burden on citizens and enhance access to justice within the city itself.
This development comes in the wake of Pawar’s recent proactive efforts to address local civic issues in Hinjewadi, where monsoon rains had caused serious disruptions. His early morning inspection on July 26 and subsequent meetings with officials led to swift action on waterlogging and traffic concerns, with residents acknowledging the improvements.
Officials said the establishment of local courts is part of broader efforts to enhance governance and infrastructure across Pimpri-Chinchwad, addressing both civic and legal needs of its expanding population.
