Maharashtra Govt Approves Stamp Duty Waiver For Tata Memorial Centre's Integrated Ayurvedic Cancer Research Hospital In Raigad
Raigad, August 20, 2025 – In a major healthcare boost for the Konkan region, the Maharashtra Cabinet has approved a stamp duty concession for the upcoming Tata Memorial Centre’s Integrated Ayurvedic Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Raigad district.
The hospital, to be built at Tambati in Khalapur taluka, will have a capacity of 100 beds. For this project, the state government has allotted 10 hectares of land to Tata Memorial Centre at a nominal lease rate of just ₹1 per year. The institution had requested a waiver on the stamp duty applicable to the lease agreement, which was approved in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The hospital is expected to provide advanced cancer treatment and healthcare facilities not only to residents of rural Raigad but also to people from nearby urban areas. Out of the 100 beds, 12 percent will be reserved for economically weaker sections, below poverty line families, and government employees. Additionally, as per government guidelines, cancer treatment will be provided at concessional rates.
The decision also ensures that one attendant accompanying each patient will be offered affordable accommodation facilities. With these provisions, the new hospital is expected to significantly improve access to quality cancer care in the region.
