Pandharpur: The conservation and preservation work of the Vitthal-Rukmini Temple in Pandharpur is set to be completed before June, according to the Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Temple Committee. Efforts are underway to enhance the temple’s structure, including restoration work in the sanctum, inner hall, and key pillars. Waterproofing and stone coating work is also being prioritized to ensure durability before the monsoon season.

In a recent meeting held by the temple committee, discussions were conducted regarding the upcoming Chaitri Wari pilgrimage on April 4. Measures are being planned to ensure the comfort of devotees, including arrangements to protect them from extreme heat.

Additionally, a token-based darshan system is set to be introduced at the temple, similar to those in Shirdi and Tirupati. This system will allow devotees to book a specific date and time for darshan, reducing the need for long queues. The project has been assigned to TCS, which will soon present a demonstration of the system.
