In a significant move, the Maharashtra Home Department has announced the transfer of 16 senior police officers across the state, effective immediately. Secretary of the Home Department, Sandeep Dhakne, revealed the reshuffle on Tuesday evening.
Notable transfers include Rohidas Pawar, previously Deputy Commissioner of Police for Pune Traffic Wing, now appointed as Deputy Commissioner for the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate. Lata Phad, Superintendent of Police for Pune Division’s Highway Police Force, will transition to Deputy Commissioner of the State Intelligence Department (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Office). Vikrant Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of the Economic and Cyber Crime Branch in Pune, is now Superintendent of Police for Pune Division’s Highway Security Police.
The reshuffle aims to bolster the stateās policing framework and address emerging security concerns.
