Valuables linked to a bank discovered during routine election vehicle checks.

In a significant operation, police in Maharashtra’s Dhule district seized 10,000 kg of silver ingots valued at ₹94.68 crore. The discovery was made during vehicle inspections at Thalner village in Shirpur taluka as part of heightened security measures for the ongoing assembly elections.

The container carrying the silver ingots was intercepted around 5 a.m. in Thalner village. The ingots weigh 10,000 kg, collectively worth ₹94.68 crore. Officials suspect the silver is linked to a financial institution, although further verification is underway.

Special Inspector General of Police Nashik, Dattatrya Karale, confirmed the operation, stating:

“In a major police action, 10,000 kg of silver ingots worth ₹94.68 crore was found in a container in Shirpur taluka.”  

The state police have intensified vehicle inspections to maintain law and order during the assembly elections. This seizure highlights the effectiveness of the ongoing checks, with authorities ensuring strict compliance with security protocols. Further investigation is underway to determine the ownership and purpose of the seized silver.
