Maharashtra to Introduce CBSE Elements in Std I Curriculum from 2025 ; Dada Bhuse
The Maharashtra government has announced plans to integrate selected aspects of the CBSE curriculum into the Std I syllabus starting from the 2025-26 academic year. However, Education Minister Dada Bhuse has clarified that the state’s existing SSC board framework will remain intact, with only certain CBSE elements being incorporated. The state’s textbook bureau, Balbharati, will be responsible for revising textbooks accordingly.
Speaking to the media in Nashik, Bhuse addressed concerns about the curriculum update, stating, “We are not replacing the Maharashtra State Board syllabus. Only some CBSE elements will be added for Std I students in the next academic year, and Balbharati will continue to develop and print textbooks.”
Acknowledging concerns from students, parents, and educators, Bhuse assured that further details about the integration would be shared during the ongoing assembly session. He also promised a press conference to clarify the changes and gather expert opinions before implementation.
The minister expressed confidence that the initiative would be well-received, emphasizing that the government aims to enhance education quality without disrupting the current system.
Regarding teacher recruitment, Bhuse stated that the second phase of hiring is nearing completion. He attributed delays to pending muster roll finalizations at some Zilla Parishad offices but assured that the recruitment process would resume within eight days.
