Maharashtra Weather Update: Nandurbar records highest temperature; thunderstorm expected in Pune and Nagpur
Maharashtra witnessed its highest temperature in Nandurbar, soaring to 38.7 degrees Celsius, according to IMD reports on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mahabaleshwar recorded the lowest temperature at 22.8 degrees Celsius, slightly above its usual figures. Most parts of the state experienced temperatures around or below 36 degrees Celsius.
On Friday, Pune recorded a temperature of 28.75 °C, with a forecast indicating minimum and maximum temperatures of 23.95 °C and 30.66 °C, respectively. The relative humidity stands at 61%, with a wind speed of 61 km/h.
Pune is expected to experience temperatures ranging from 23.38 °C to 31.93 °C, with humidity levels around 52%. The day’s forecast indicates a likelihood of rain, so plan your activities accordingly. Enjoy the weather while staying prepared with sunscreen and sunglasses.
In Pune, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 15.0 on Friday, indicating good air quality suitable for outdoor activities and daily routines. Understanding the AQI helps in making informed decisions about health and well-being.
In other regions, Mumbai’s Colaba observatory registered 32.8 degrees Celsius, while Santacruz recorded 33.9 degrees Celsius. Thane and Palghar districts saw temperatures around 34 degrees Celsius.
Significant rainfall was observed across Maharashtra, excluding Vidarbha, with Chiplun in Ratnagiri recording the highest rainfall of 46.5mm.
The IMD has forecasted light to moderate rainfall in Thane, Mumbai, Palghar, Raigad, as well as in Vidarbha and Marathwada districts over the next five days. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for several districts, including Ahmednagar, Pune, Nagpur, and others, predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.
According to the IMD, “Hot and humid conditions prevail with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers towards evening.”
