Maharashtra Weather Update: Rainfall Pause for Next Five Days, Heavy Showers Expected from September 12
Maharashtra Rain Forecast: Parts of Maharashtra are currently witnessing rainfall while other regions are experiencing a dry spell. Due to continuous showers over the past few days, rivers and streams are overflowing, and water levels in several dams have risen significantly.
Weather expert Manikrao Khule has shared the forecast for the coming days, indicating a temporary break in rainfall across many districts.
According to Khule, Marathwada, Khandesh, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur districts will likely experience a dry spell from today until Thursday, September 11. For Mumbai, Konkan, and Vidarbha, this pause in rain is expected from Tuesday, September 9.
However, from Friday, September 12, fresh rainfall activity is expected. Moderate to heavy showers are likely in 21 districts including Vidarbha, Khandesh, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur. On the other hand, Mumbai, Konkan, and Marathwada may only witness scattered moderate showers during this period.
Weather conditions are expected to remain partly cloudy in some regions, with light drizzles in northern Maharashtra. Sunshine will return in many areas from tomorrow, with winds blowing from the north. Experts also indicate that weather patterns in the state may undergo further significant changes in the coming weeks.
Over the past few days, heavy rainfall across Maharashtra had triggered flooding in several regions, damaging crops, livestock, and homes.
Marathwada and Vidarbha were among the worst-hit regions, facing severe losses due to excessive rainfall. However, since the last four to five days, the intensity of rain has reduced, offering some relief.
