Maharashtra Winter Update: Temperatures to Drop by 3-4°C, Cold Wave Returns After Two Weeks

Pune weather update : Chilly weather set to return
Pune: After a two-week absence, cold weather has started returning to the state from Friday (January 3). In several parts of Maharashtra, temperatures have dropped significantly. In some regions, the mercury has dipped to around 10°C, with Pune recording 11.7°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further cooling over the next two days, with temperatures expected to drop by an additional 3-4°C. Gondia recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 8.8°C.
Parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, and western Maharashtra are experiencing chilly mornings, while fog blankets are visible in some areas. In contrast, northern India continues to experience fluctuating cold spells, while maximum temperatures remain steady in southern regions.
Despite the drop in temperatures, Friday afternoon saw noticeable warmth in several areas. The IMD has forecast a further temperature drop across Maharashtra in the coming days.
