Pune | April 13, 2025 — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning at 4 :30 PM (IST) today, cautioning residents in parts of Maharashtra about possible thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light rain, and gusty winds over the next three hours.

According to the alert, isolated areas in Pune, Nashik, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, and Nanded districts are likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning, with gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph. Light rainfall may also occur during this period.

The IMD has advised citizens to take necessary precautions while stepping outdoors, especially in open areas. Sudden changes in weather conditions such as strong winds, rain, and lightning strikes may pose risks to people, trees, and loose structures.

Weather officials have urged farmers, construction workers, and those commuting by two-wheelers to remain cautious. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid taking shelter under trees or near electric poles.
