Mahindra Slashes SUV Prices By Up To ₹1.56 Lakh After GST Cut; Full Model-Wise List Released
Mumbai, September 6, 2025 — Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) has announced a significant price reduction across its SUV portfolio, passing on the full benefit of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate cut to customers. The new prices, effective from September 6, offer buyers savings of up to ₹1.56 lakh.
The GST Council recently lowered tax rates from 28% to 18% for smaller vehicles — diesel cars with engines up to 1500 cc and length not exceeding 4000 mm, as well as small cars and motorcycles of 350 cc or less. Larger petrol and diesel vehicles, which earlier attracted nearly 50% tax (28% GST + 22% cess), will now be taxed at a flat 40%.
Revised Price Benefits on Mahindra Models:
- Bolero/Neo: Up to ₹1.27 lakh
- XUV3XO (Petrol): Up to ₹1.40 lakh
- XUV3XO (Diesel): Up to ₹1.56 lakh
- Thar 2WD (Diesel): Up to ₹1.35 lakh
- Thar 4WD (Diesel): Up to ₹1.01 lakh
- Scorpio Classic: Up to ₹1.01 lakh
- Scorpio-N: Up to ₹1.45 lakh
- Thar Roxx: Up to ₹1.33 lakh
- XUV700: Up to ₹1.43 lakh
The move comes a day after Tata Motors announced similar price reductions of up to ₹1.45 lakh across its passenger vehicle lineup, effective September 22.
According to industry experts, these cuts are expected to boost SUV demand during the festive season, making personal mobility more affordable for first-time and upgrade buyers alike.
