A heated dispute has erupted among loco pilots from three railway zones over operating the newly launched Agra-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express. Reports indicate that staff from the West-Central Railway, North-West Railway, and Northern Railway are frequently clashing to claim control over running the semi high-speed train.

The conflict reportedly began during the train’s inauguration earlier this week, when personnel from the Agra and Kota Railway Divisions argued over who would drive the prestigious Vande Bharat train. According to officials, the situation escalated to physical altercations, resulting in damage to the guard room’s lock, a broken glass windowpane, and the assault of a loco pilot and his assistant.

The Agra-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express, which commenced operations on September 2, passes through three railway divisions, each under a different railway zone. Starting from Udaipur (Ajmer Railway Division), it travels through Kota Railway Division before concluding its journey at Agra Railway Division. The train’s route through these multiple divisions has caused confusion, leading to a daily struggle for control among the railway staff.
