"Maine Apne Gold Earrings Beche Rent Pay Karne Ke Liye": Hema Sharma Reveals Struggles After Bigg Boss 18
Mumbai, India – Hema Sharma, popularly known as ‘Viral Bhabhi’ from her viral social media presence, is confronting severe personal and financial challenges. The actress, who gained a substantial following after her appearance on Bigg Boss 18, recently revealed that she has been struggling financially since leaving the show, to the extent of selling her earrings to cover her rent.
Reality Post-Bigg Boss Exit
Hema, who was eliminated from Bigg Boss 18 following a lukewarm audience response, has shared her journey of hardship since her departure. The actress’s troubles intensified after her ex-husband, Gaurav Saxena, accused her of preventing him from seeing their son, alleging she demanded a 2 BHK apartment for visitation rights. In a statement, Hema refuted these claims, countering with accusations of domestic abuse.
Struggles for Financial Stability
In an exclusive interview, Hema detailed her financial struggles that began even before joining the show, stating, “When I entered the Bigg Boss house, my situation was extremely difficult. I had barely 50,000 rupees and very little time to prepare.” She admitted feeling conflicted, torn between celebrating her selection and worrying about her children’s well-being during her absence.
Despite her viral fame, Hema explained her social media earnings have only amounted to around 50,000-60,000 rupees per month, which she has had to stretch to support her children. Since her separation in April, Hema claims she has solely managed expenses for her children’s education, food, and daily essentials, while her ex-husband only contributed 35,000 rupees for rent. “I didn’t ask for more,” she shared, “because he would taunt me whenever I did.”
Facing Financial Reality
Hema disclosed that prior to her Bigg Boss stint, she approached multiple people for help, but none came forward. She ultimately left her ATM card and gold earrings with her son, instructing him to sell them if needed. Reflecting on her time in the house, she described feeling self-conscious among contestants dressed in new outfits. “Inside the house, I didn’t even have slippers or enough clothes. I only had my old outfits, three nighties, and no new sarees,” she revealed.
Allegations of Exploitation by Ex-Husband
Following her Bigg Boss appearance, Hema claims her ex-husband sought to capitalize on her fame, allegedly assuming she had gained considerable wealth. “He took full advantage of my fame,” she asserted. Hema alleges that Gaurav cut off his support entirely after seven months, leaving her to manage expenses alone. In a desperate move, she sold her gold earrings valued at 1,37,000 rupees to cover her rent and other bills, saying, “I’m sharing this now because even my family doesn’t know how difficult my situation was when I joined Bigg Boss.”
Hema Sharma’s story sheds light on the harsh reality many in the entertainment industry face, where fame often conceals underlying financial and personal struggles.
