Man Bites Off Wife’s Nose After Catching Her with Lover in Uttar Pradesh, Detained by Police
Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh | June 19 — In a shocking incident rooted in suspected infidelity, a man allegedly bit off his wife’s nose after catching her with another man in a village in Hardoi district. The brutal act occurred on Wednesday and has left the woman, 25, critically injured.
According to police reports, the woman had gone to meet her lover, a resident of the same village, when her husband, Ram Khilawan, followed her and confronted the couple. A heated argument broke out, during which Khilawan allegedly bit off his wife’s nose in a fit of rage — in full view of the lover.
As the woman screamed in pain and bled profusely, local residents and family members rushed to the scene. The police were immediately informed.
Hariyawan police reached the spot and took the victim to Hardoi Medical College. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was later referred to a medical facility in Lucknow for specialized treatment.
Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar confirmed that the accused husband has been detained and is currently being interrogated. “Legal action is underway, and the matter is being thoroughly investigated from all angles,” he stated.
The incident has sparked outrage in the area and raised concerns over rising cases of domestic violence and extreme reactions to extramarital affairs.
