Manasi Ghosh emerged as the winner of Indian Idol Season 15, taking home the coveted trophy along with a cash prize of ₹25 lakh. She triumphed over fellow finalists Subhajit Chakraborty and Sneha Shankar in a grand finale that marked the culmination of weeks filled with soulful music and unforgettable performances.
Sony TV announced her win on X (formerly Twitter) with a heartfelt post, stating, “After weeks of music, magic, and moments — Manasi didn’t just win a title, she won a million hearts,” accompanied by a celebratory photo of the new champion.
Still coming to terms with her big win, Manasi said the moment feels surreal. Previously the runner-up on Super Singer Season 3, this victory marks a major milestone in her musical journey. In an interview with Indian Express, she recalled how emotional the finale was for her and her family. “They were crying and cheering at the same time. I was overwhelmed and didn’t know how to react initially. But we’re all thrilled, and the love and blessings from people all over the country have been overwhelming,” she said.
As for her prize money, Manasi revealed plans to invest in her independent music career and fulfill a long-held wish of buying a car. During the finale, her family joined her on stage, reminiscing about her childhood and the hardships she faced. They proudly shared that she had taken on financial responsibilities from a young age and has now promised to buy them multiple homes.
This season of Indian Idol was hosted by Aditya Narayan and judged by Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Badshah. The show also saw appearances by celebrity guests like Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Mika Singh, making the finale night all the more special.
