OMassive Crowd At Pune Police Recruitment: Gate Collapses Amid Rush Of Female Candidates
A video from Pune’s Shivajinagar police headquarters has gone viral, highlighting the overwhelming response to the ongoing police recruitment process. On March 19, thousands of female candidates gathered for the recruitment drive, leading to a chaotic situation where the entrance gate collapsed due to the crowd pressure.
The recruitment process, which began on January 29, saw over 3,000 women applying for 531 prison police positions. As the gates opened early in the morning, the rush to enter caused a section of the gate to break, leading to some candidates falling and minor injuries being reported.
However, the authorities as per reports in Loksatta stated that the recruitment process has been running smoothly, and police intervention quickly brought the crowd under control.
The incident highlights the growing competition for government jobs, with thousands vying for limited positions. Despite the brief disruption, the recruitment drive continued as planned.
