“Japanese Encephalitis is a viral disease that primarily affects children under 15, causing severe neurological damage. In 30-40% of cases, survivors suffer lifelong disabilities. Preventive vaccination is the most effective measure, and we encourage all parents to get their children immunized.” informed Vijaykumar Khorate, Additional Commissioner, PCMC

“Japanese Encephalitis is a serious illness with symptoms such as fever and persistent vomiting, and in some cases, it can be fatal. Vaccination is the only safe option. Even if a child has received the vaccine at nine months of age, getting revaccinated in this campaign will boost immunity and prevent the spread of the disease.” said Dr. Laxman Gophane, PCMC Medical Officer

With a robust response in the initial phase, PCMC aims to vaccinate as many children as possible under this campaign to ensure a JE-free future for Pimpri Chinchwad.
