The story of IPS officer Anjana Krishna is one of resilience, ambition, and relentless hard work. Born in 1990 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Anjana grew up in a humble household. Her mother, Seena, served as a court typist, while her father, Biju, managed a small clothing shop. Despite limited resources, her parents instilled in her the values of education, perseverance, and honesty, laying the foundation for her future journey.

Anjana’s academic brilliance shone through early. She completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Central School, Poojappura, and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from HHMSPB NSS College for Women, Neeramankara. Though mathematics was her chosen field of study, her aspirations were always higher, she dreamed of becoming a civil servant and serving the nation in uniform.

Preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination is a daunting challenge, demanding years of commitment, consistency, and mental resilience. For Anjana, this was not merely an exam but a mission. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to preparation, with a focus and discipline that matched her ambitions. Her perseverance bore fruit in the 2022 examination cycle, where she secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 355, an achievement that opened the doors to the Indian Police Service.

Joining the 2023 IPS batch, Anjana Krishna’s training sharpened her leadership, discipline, and administrative skills. Today, she is posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Karmala, Solapur district, Maharashtra. Known among her peers and subordinates for her honesty, determination, and sharp decision-making, she stands as a role model for aspiring officers, particularly young women from modest backgrounds.

Her journey from the narrow lanes of Thiruvananthapuram to the challenging responsibilities of a DSP in Solapur is a testament to what determination and self-belief can achieve.
