Meet the Young Stars Shining at the 71st National Film Awards: Trisha Thosar and Other Child Artists Steal the Spotlight
The 71st National Film Awards recently celebrated the best of Indian cinema at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, honoring iconic stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey, Mohanlal, and Rani Mukerji. Alongside these legendary actors, the ceremony also shone a light on the youngest talents of the industry. This year’s awards recognized films released in 2023, short films, and various categories, with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his lifelong contribution to Indian cinema. Amidst all this glamour, five remarkable child actors captured everyone’s attention by winning the National Award for Best Child Artist.
The Five Child Artists Who Won the National Award
The five young winners of the Best Child Artist award at the 71st National Film Awards are Trisha Thosar, Srinivas Pokale, Bhargav Jagtap, Kabir Khandare, and Sukriti Veni Bandreddy. Among them, Trisha Thosar emerged as the most talked-about, charming the audience with her stage presence.
Trisha Thosar: The Rising Star
Little Trisha Thosar won the National Award for her performance in the film “Naal.” Despite her young age, she has already shared screen space with well-known actors like Mahesh Manjrekar and Siddharth Jadhav. She also played an important role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s directorial venture “Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale”, co-starring with fellow child artist Bhargav Jagtap.
Speaking to ANI, Trisha expressed her delight, saying, “I am very happy that the President congratulated me.”
Other Child Artists Recognized
Srinivas Pokale also received the Best Child Artist award for his performance in “Naal 2.” This marks Srinivas’s second National Film Award, highlighting his impressive journey in Marathi cinema from a very young age. Bhargav Jagtap shared the same honor for his role in “Naal 2.”
Kabir Khandare earned his National
Award for the Marathi film “Gypsy.” Dressed adorably in a dhoti-kurta and turban, Kabir immediately captured everyone’s attention on stage. Sukriti Veni Bandreddy was awarded for her performance in the Telugu film “Gandhi and Chettu.” Sukriti is the daughter of the acclaimed South Indian director Sukumar, continuing her family’s cinematic legacy.
The 71st National Film Awards, held on September 23rd at Vigyan Bhavan, brought together some of the biggest names in the film industry. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal were honored, with Shah Rukh Khan’s children expressing pride at their father’s achievement.
