Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni, lovingly known as ‘Captain Cool,’ is known for his calm nature and quick wit. Staying true to his personality, Dhoni recently stole the show at a friend’s wedding with a funny and memorable speech that left guests and fans in splits.

Dhoni was attending the wedding of Utkarsh Sanghvi and Dhvani Kanungo when he took the mic to give some lighthearted marriage advice. His words, filled with humor, quickly went viral after the video was shared online.

In his style, Dhoni began by saying, “Marriage is a very good thing. You were the one in a hurry to do it.” He then added, “Some people like to play with fire. He is one of them… Now, Utkarsh is also under an illusion. My answer is the same as always,” referencing his famous line “meri wali alag hai (my woman is different).”

The crowd burst into laughter, clearly enjoying the cricket star’s comic timing. Dhoni didn’t stop there. He shared a funny observation that most married men could relate to. “Every husband here is in the same boat. It hardly matters whether you’ve won a World Cup or not,” he said, bringing even more laughter to the audience.

Turning to the bride, he shared a piece of advice for a peaceful marriage. “If your husband is angry, don’t say anything in that moment. We cool down in five minutes. We know our power.” His words struck a chord with many, as they were both funny and relatable.

As Dhoni ended his speech, he joked that it’s always the men who laugh at his jokes and wished the newlyweds all the best. The crowd gave him a loud cheer, chanting “Dhoni! Dhoni!” as he stepped off the stage, just like fans would at a cricket stadium.

The video of Dhoni’s speech has since gone viral on Instagram, gathering more than 4.2 million views and over 328,000 likes. One fan even commented, “Stand-up comedians ki job ab khatre me (the jobs of stand-up comedians are in danger).”

Though it’s been nearly five years since Dhoni retired from international cricket, he continues to entertain his fans in new ways. Whether on the pitch or at a wedding, he proves why he’s still called “Thala” by his loyal supporters.
