MLA’s can use Rs 1 crore from their development funds for Covid19 related work

In the weekly review meeting held at Pune’s council hall, deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar warned that if the violation of curfew rules continue, the government may have to forcefully implement complete lockdown.

He expressed satisfaction over the cooperation from the Pune citizens over the weekend lockdown but was unhappy over the non-cooperation over the curfew rules which are being violated. He urged that the citizens should follow the rules or face strict lockdown like last year.
He also approved Rs 1 crore to each of the 288 Members of Legislative Assembly in the state to spend immediately on the Covid related issues. He further informed that a total of Rs 350 crores have been sanctioned under the local area development fund for the MLA’s.

The deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar informed that the Member of Legislative Assembly under the local area development fund of Rs 4 crores can allocate Rs 50 lakh for Covid related initiatives. But seeing the current situation, this year the amount has been increased to Rs 1 crore each. A total of Rs 350 crore has been sanctioned under the local area development funds for the legislators of the state.
Pawar also said that liquid oxygen generator plants must be installed at the Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital and Dalvi hospital. Also, the unused ventilators which are lying at the government hospitals can be given on a temporary basis to private hospitals. Electric crematoriums must be installed in both Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. He stressed on strengthening the medical facilities rural as well as urban areas.
