Mother Murdered by Daughter and Boyfriend in Pune

In a shocking turn of events in Pune, a 45-year-old woman, Mangal Sanjay Gokhale, was brutally murdered in her sleep by her own daughter, Yoshita, and her boyfriend, Yash Shitole. The tragic incident, staged to appear as an accidental fall in the bathroom.
Mangal’s husband had passed away two years prior to the incident, leaving her to fend for herself and her family. 

Yoshita,18, who had dropped out of college after Class 11, and her boyfriend Yash, 23, unemployed but having completed an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) course, orchestrated the heinous act out of fear of being caught for unauthorized transactions from Mangal’s bank account, totaling over Rs 2 lakh. As per officials, On the morning of April 1, Yoshita called for an ambulance, claiming her mother had sustained a head injury from a fall in the bathroom. However, suspicions arose when medical professionals noted inconsistencies in the story. Despite Yoshita’s attempt to clean up the crime scene, forensic evidence revealed the truth behind Mangal’s demise.

The police investigation noted that, days prior, Mangal had expressed her intention to visit the bank, potentially exposing the fraudulent withdrawals. Fearing discovery, Yoshita and Yash made this plan
Under the guise of a bike ride with Yoshita’s cousin, Yash seized the opportunity to execute the crime. Upon the cousin’s return, Yoshita misled him by telling a story about her mother’s fall, further perpetuating the deceit.
It was later revealed that The two strangled her with a scarf in her sleep and then hit her with a hammer. They staged her death as an accidental fall in front of the doctors and police officials.
The two have been arrested for murder and destruction of evidence.
