MSRDC Receives Prestigious SKOCH Award 2025 For Samruddhi Mahamarg
Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has been awarded the prestigious “SKOCH Award 2025” for the successful execution of the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. The award was presented to Dr. Anilkumar Gaikwad, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of MSRDC, during the 100th SKOCH Summit held recently at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The Samruddhi Mahamarg is regarded as a transformative project that has revolutionized Maharashtra’s transport landscape. It has added a new dimension to connectivity across the state. During the award ceremony, Dr. Gaikwad shared insights into the construction journey of the expressway. He stated that the SKOCH Award is a recognition of the dedication and hard work of all MSRDC team members. “Overcoming numerous challenges, we completed the state’s longest expressway in record time. This success motivates us to continue building world-class infrastructure for Maharashtra,” he added.
The Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is a high-speed greenfield expressway connecting 392 villages across 26 talukas in 10 districts of Maharashtra. It has drastically reduced travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai from 16–18 hours to just 7–8 hours. The expressway is also boosting agricultural and industrial development in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions, thereby contributing to the state’s economic growth.
Established in 2003, the SKOCH Award honours individuals, institutions, and projects that have made significant contributions in governance, inclusive development, technology excellence, corporate leadership, and citizen service delivery. It aims to recognize efforts toward making India a more progressive and developed nation.
