‘Mujhe ladkiyan nahi pasand’: Varun Dhawan’s Lighthearted Rejection of Shraddha Kapoor’s Childhood Proposal
In a recent podcast with Shubankar Mishra, actress Shraddha Kapoor shared a charming anecdote from her childhood involving actor Varun Dhawan. Kapoor, who has reunited with Dhawan for the film Stree 2, fondly recalled a time when she proposed to him as an eight-year-old. This revelation came as a part of her conversation about their enduring on-screen chemistry.
Kapoor reminisced about the playful incident, saying, “It’s an old story that many people already know.
Varun rejected my proposal, which is quite amusing now. We were on a shoot with our dads, and I had a little crush on him back then. While we were playing on a mountain top, I said to him, ‘I will say something in reverse, and you’ll need to figure out what it means.’ I said, ‘You love I.’ His response was, ‘I don’t like girls,’ and then he ran away.”
This nostalgic tale is set against the backdrop of their recent film Stree 2, which premiered on August 15. In this horror-comedy sequel, Dhawan makes a memorable extended cameo as Bhediya, a character he originally portrayed in the film Bhediya.
His appearance in Stree 2 has been well-received by fans, who have been eager to see a crossover between the Bhediya and Stree universes. Kapoor and Dhawan’s chemistry is also highlighted in the film’s romantic track, “Khoobsurat,” further enhancing their on-screen rapport.
Aside from Stree 2, Kapoor and Dhawan have previously collaborated on ABCD 2 and Street Dancer 3D, both directed by Remo D’Souza. Their partnership in these films, along with their latest project, continues to be a hit with audiences, demonstrating their strong on-screen connection and shared history.
The success of Stree 2 and their engaging past make Kapoor and Dhawan a beloved pair in Bollywood, with their personal anecdotes adding a nostalgic touch to their professional achievements.
