Mumbai Bank Employee Abuses Army Jawan in Viral Loan Call; Audio Leaves Nation Shocked

A shocking audio clip of a woman said to be an HDFC Bank employee in Mumbai has gone viral on social media. The clip features a heated phone call in which the woman allegedly insults an Indian Army soldier while speaking about a loan. The words she uses in the conversation have angered thousands of people online, with many demanding that the bank take strict action against her. 

The Viral Phone Call

According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by journalist @navalkant, the woman in the audio has been identified as Anuradha Verma, who is claimed to be working with HDFC Bank. In the clip, she is heard calling an army soldier for loan recovery. When the soldier questions the high interest on the loan, the woman loses her temper.

She reportedly tells the soldier, “You are uneducated, that’s why you have been sent to the border. If you were educated, you would have been working in a reputed organisation. You should not eat someone else’s share, it won’t be digested, that’s why your children are born disabled.”

These remarks shocked listeners. The woman also says, “I also belong to a defence family. If you had belonged to a good family, you would not have taken a loan of ₹15–16 lakh. You are living on loans and still giving lectures.”

More Disturbing Statements

The audio does not stop there. The woman can also be heard challenging the soldier to confront her face-to-face. She says, “Do whatever you want, try to ruin me. Bhikari jaisa loan pe jee rahhe ho (You are living like a beggar on loans). Am I your father’s servant? Do I look mad to you?”

People online are calling these words deeply offensive. Not only did she insult the soldier personally, but she also made hurtful comments about the entire Indian Army and even the martyrs who lost their lives serving the country.

Social Media Outrage

The clip has quickly spread across platforms. Well-known journalist and filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj also shared the post and strongly criticised the woman’s behaviour. She wrote, “Horrendous behaviour by your employee @HDFC_Bank. She’s talking as if people who take loan are beggars. She’s saying kids of soldiers who take loan are born disabled and then become Martyrs. Heights of sickness. Sack her please.”

Many users on X are calling the comments “anti-national” and demanding strict legal action. One user wrote, “please investigate and initiate approachable action. Such behavior is tolerable?” Another wrote, “How can she talk to defense personal, please take strict action against her on immediate basis and terminate her.” Several people also tagged HDFC Bank and asked for the woman to be removed from her job.
