Mumbai Braces for Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms; Yellow Alert Issued Amid Disruptions, More Rain Expected Across Maharashtra
Mumbai is currently experiencing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, disrupting daily activities. A yellow alert has been issued for the city, while other regions in Maharashtra are also facing weather changes, with rain expected in various districts in the coming days.
The unexpected downpour on Thursday caused significant challenges for commuters, particularly during rush hour. The rain continued into the next day, leading to waterlogging on some roads and slowing traffic, though railway services remained operational. The India Meteorological Department has forecasted more rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai over the next 24 hours, prompting a yellow alert for Friday due to water accumulation in several areas.
