Mumbai News: Luxury Car Stolen from Shilpa Shetty’s Upscale Bastian Restaurant in Dadar
Mumbai’s popular luxury dining spot, Bastian, owned by actress Shilpa Shetty, is under scrutiny following the theft of a high-end BMW Z4 convertible, worth Rs 80 lakh, from its premises. The incident occurred on Sunday when businessman Ruhan Firoz Khan, 34, visited Bastian, located on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar, with friends around 1 a.m.
Khan, a construction entrepreneur from Bandra, handed his car keys to the valet before entering the restaurant. After dining until the early hours, he returned around 4 am to find his BMW missing from the parking lot. CCTV footage later revealed two individuals arriving in a Jeep Compass shortly after the valet parked the BMW in the basement. Using advanced hacking techniques, they unlocked the vehicle and swiftly drove it away.
Upon realizing the car had been stolen, Khan filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Shivaji Park Police Station. The police have since registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act for theft. They are analyzing surveillance footage to trace the stolen vehicle and identify the suspects.
Khan expressed concern over security lapses at such an upscale venue, calling for enhanced safety measures to prevent similar incidents. His advocate, Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, stated that the police are actively investigating and examining CCTV footage. Despite the high-profile nature of the case, Shilpa Shetty has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.
