Mumbai Woman Finds Fungus in Cornetto Ice Cream Ordered via Zepto, MNS Demands Shutdown
A shocking incident has come to light in Andheri East, Mumbai, where a woman received a fungus-infected Cornetto Double Chocolate ice cream ordered online from Zepto. The incident has triggered strong reactions, with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staging a protest outside the company’s office, demanding strict action.
The complaint was filed by Nikita Chavan, a resident of Marol in MIDC Police Station after she discovered fungus inside the ice cream delivered to her home. She had ordered the product, manufactured by Hindustan Unilever, through the Zepto app.
Following the complaint, MNS workers, led by Andheri Assembly President Rohan Sawant, launched a protest against Zepto, demanding immediate action against the company for delivering expired and unsafe food products. Protesters warned that if authorities do not take action soon, MNS will intensify its agitation.
MNS has also called for Zepto’s operations to be shut down if such incidents continue. They have urged the authorities to inspect the company’s practices and take strict action to prevent further cases of contaminated food deliveries.
This incident has raised serious concerns about online food safety, prompting calls for stronger quality checks by food delivery platforms. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter further and take necessary steps to ensure customer safety.
