MVA Alleges Election Server Being Controlled Externally; Jayant Patil Raises Serious Concerns Over Voter List Errors
Pune, October 15, 2025: In a major allegation ahead of the upcoming elections, senior NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Jayant Patil claimed that the Maharashtra Election Commission’s server might be controlled by someone else.
Speaking at a joint Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) press conference attended by Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, and Balasaheb Thorat, Patil said the opposition has submitted evidence of serious irregularities in the voter lists to both the central and state election commissions.
“Yesterday, we met the Central Election Commission and presented them with detailed proof of numerous errors in the voter lists. They assured us that these documents will be forwarded to the Centre for review. Today, we met the State Election Commission to discuss the same issues,” Patil said.
He added, “We have provided crucial evidence and written communication to the state commission showing that several incorrect entries exist in the voter lists—some people don’t even live at the listed addresses. When our workers from the Murbad constituency flagged discrepancies, the name of Mrs. Gupta was removed from the list. Who ordered this removal? Who verified the site? Who confirmed the photos? These are serious questions.”
Patil further alleged, “It appears the state election commission’s server is being operated by someone else. This situation proves that neither the state nor the central election commissions are in full control.”
He also cautioned against repeating mistakes seen in the previous Assembly elections, where several irregularities and system failures were reported. “If the same flawed lists are used again, the same errors will recur,” he warned.
