New Features on WhatsApp: Like, Tag, and Reshare with Ease
WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, regularly introduces new features to enhance user engagement. Recently, they’ve added some updates for status updates. According to WhatsApp, their status feature is a great way to stay connected with friends and family, and these new features aim to improve that experience. Users can now like statuses from others and have the option to reshare statuses they’re mentioned in. Plus, users can privately tag their contacts in their status updates.
WhatsApp noted that sometimes people might miss important status updates. They suggest making sure that your closest friends see your status and can easily share it with their audience by tagging them. Those who are mentioned in a status will receive a private notification, and the mention won’t show up on their own status.
The status likes feature works just like the like buttons on other social media platforms! With just one tap, you can like your friends’ status updates. WhatsApp mentioned that these likes are private and don’t have a visible counter, so only the person whose status you liked will see it in their list of viewers.
These features are starting to roll out now and should be available to everyone soon. If you don’t see them right away, just hang tight for a few days since it’s a gradual rollout. WhatsApp also said they’ll be adding more features to Status and the Updates tab in the coming months to help you stay connected with your favorite people.
