New Tourist Attraction: Maharashtra’s First Glass Bridge Opens Over Napne Waterfall in Sindhudurg(Video)
New tourist attraction aims to boost eco-tourism in Vaibhavwadi region
Maharashtra has unveiled its first-ever glass bridge, constructed over the scenic Napne Waterfall in Sindhudurg district. Situated near Nadhavade village along the Kolhapur-Tarle National Highway, the bridge officially opened to the public on Tuesday and is expected to become a major eco-tourism attraction in the region.
This unique glass skywalk, which offers breathtaking views of the waterfall and its lush surroundings, is part of the Sindhuratna tourism promotion scheme. The project, with a budget of ₹99.63 lakh, is designed to highlight the natural charm of Napne Falls and offer visitors a thrilling experience of walking above cascading waters.
Announcing the bridge’s opening, regional minister Nitesh Rane shared the news on social media, describing it as a landmark initiative for tourism in Vaibhavwadi.
Napne Waterfall is known for its perennial flow and verdant environment, attracting families and nature enthusiasts, especially during the summer months. It is located just 6 km from Nadhavade village and 3 km from Vaibhavwadi railway station, making it easily accessible.
While the falls are calm and inviting during the summer, they transform into a powerful cascade during the monsoon. The newly built glass bridge now allows tourists to safely enjoy the spectacle of the waterfall even in peak rains.
With its opening, the Napne glass bridge is expected to significantly boost local tourism and provide an immersive nature experience to visitors from across the state.
