Nita Ambani’s Rs 17-Crore Hermès Bag with 2,712 Diamonds Steals Spotlight at Diwali Bash
Reliance Foundation chairperson dazzles in Manish Malhotra ensemble paired with ultra-rare Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin
Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, made a stunning appearance at celebrity designer Manish Malhotra’s Diwali bash in Mumbai, where her diamond-encrusted Hermès handbag reportedly worth Rs 17 crore became the talk of the evening.
The businesswoman-philanthropist wore a metallic saree designed by Manish Malhotra, paired with a sleeveless mirror-encrusted blouse and silver peep-toe heels. Her understated makeup — featuring nude lips, kohl-rimmed eyes, and a sleek bun — perfectly balanced the glamour of her look.
The centrepiece, however, was her ultra-rare Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin — a miniature version of the iconic Birkin bag crafted from white gold and adorned with 2,712 diamonds. Valued at approximately $2 million (around Rs 17 crore), the exquisite piece is not just a handbag but a wearable work of art that can be worn as a bracelet. Only three such diamond-studded pieces exist in the world.
Intricate details — from its crocodile leather texture to diamond-studded handles, lock, and clochette — highlight Hermès’ unmatched craftsmanship. Nita completed her look with heart-shaped Colombian emerald earrings and a bracelet featuring candy-shaped emerald motifs.
Accompanying her at the event was her daughter-in-law, Radhika Merchant, who exuded elegance in a custom white Manish Malhotra saree paired with diamond jewellery.
