No bird flu scare in Maharashtra, bird flu reported in migratory birds in Himachal, MP, Rajasthan and Kerala

Maharashtra government on Tuesday January 5, 2020 informed that there are no traces of bird flu in wild as well as migratory birds. Also, no birds have seen dead in any area across the state. Hence people eating meat, eggs as well as poultry farmers should not worry.
Also, if reports of untimely death among birds from forests, migratory birds or at the poultry farms is reported the concerned persons should immediately report to the animal husbandry office of the state government.
Bird flu has been reported in Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan where migratory birds have been reported dead.

In Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district’s Pong dam where migratory birds from Siberia, Mangolia were seen dead. Nishad (National Institute of High-security Animal Disease, Bhopal) has identified thr flu and informed that it is H5N1 strain. Himachal Pradesh government has taken up the task of identifying more areas where such birds often visit. Rajasthan’s Jhalwad and Jodhpur and Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district has reported deaths among crows.
Nishad informed that H5N1 strain has been the reason for their death. Swab tests of the throat, stool test and blood test of these birds were taken. In Maharashtra, western division of disease diagnosis at the animal husbandry department had taken up 1715 stool samples, 1913 blood samples, and 1549 swab tests of throat and conducted RTPCR test as well as ALliza in the year 2020-2021 and found the negative test reports for.bird flu.
