“On Sunday (11), onions achieved the highest market price at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee. The super lot number one bunched onions sold for Rs 40 to 42 per kg, compared to last week’s peak price of Rs 30 to 31 per kg. A total of 19 thousand bags of onions were received.” This update was provided by Sachin Pansare, Deputy Chairman of the Market Committee.

With the rising market price of onions, supplies have also arrived from Narodi, Ghodegaon, Mahalunge Padwal, Ranjani, Nirgudsar, Avasari Khurd, Kalamb, as well as Shirur and Khed talukas.

The traders buy the onions by bidding in an auction format based on weight and market price. They should bring properly graded onions for sale in the market yard, appealed Pansare.
