Pune West Team (including Wakad) outshines others. Reportedly, around 300 plus pediatricians all over Maharashtra witnessed this quiz show on a common knowledge oriented platform of IAP, called as dIAP (digital IAP).

During this era of Covid-19 pandemic, various competitions, quizzes and knowledge sharing webinars are often arranged online by medical fraternities, their apex bodies and renowned hospitals/colleges etc.  The objective is to remain updated with novel and innovative concepts and practices which ultimately and directly helps the patient community.
The recently organized quiz competition on the subject of Antimicrobial Awareness  by Pune Branch of Indian Association of Pediatrics (IAP) was an effort in the same direction given the current situation of rampant and un-necessary antibiotic usage by patient as well as the doctor community.
This competition was announced in the second week of September 2020 by IAP, Pune and was held online on Sunday, the 27 September 2020.  Nominations were invited from all across the cities of Pune, PCMC including the resident doctors from Postgraduate institutes. In total, IAP received nominations from 6 groups, each group comprising of 4 pediatrician professionals and representing each side of the city.

The questionnaire put before the participants was highly technical and specific in nature and was focused more on the day-to-day diseases as well as the unusual ones. The quiz consisted of 2 non-pass rounds and a rapid fire round consisting in total of 20 questions for each team.

Team Wakad rocked the event :
The team of west side doctors of Pune City (Aundh-Baner-Wakad-Pashan-P.Gurav-P.Saudagar) rocked the show by scoring maximum points consistently through all three rounds. From this West Team, senior pediatricians Dr. Mangalmoorti Bhalerao (from P.Nilakh) and Dr. Anay Deshmukh (from Tiny Steps Clinic, Wakad) led their group viz. University Brigade and they were equally supported by their colleagues and team-mates Dr. Mahesh Sulakshane (Aundh) and Dr. Mangesh Khandave (Baner).
Indeed, it’s a proud moment for Wakad that proves they have one of the best talents in the whole city.
