New Delhi – The Indian military on Sunday confirmed that over 100 terrorists were killed in precision strikes carried out under Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine key terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Addressing the media, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said,

“Nine terror targets were identified after careful deliberation under Operation Sindoor. More than 100 terrorists were eliminated during the early morning strikes on May 7.”

The operation was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen. The Indian Armed Forces planned and executed the strikes based on credible intelligence linking the targeted sites to active terror networks.

A damaged mosque in Muridke near Lahore, reportedly struck during the operation, highlights the intensity and reach of the Indian assault. The military has stated that all actions were aimed strictly at terror-linked facilities, and efforts were made to avoid civilian casualties.

Operation Sindoor represents one of the most significant cross-border counter-terrorism responses in recent years. The Indian military has reiterated its commitment to national security and warned of further action if threats persist from across the border.

This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more details emerge.
