Over 200 Parvati Area Residents Raise Photographs Of Pothole Riddled Road - pune pulse
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Pune has begun a campaign ‘Khadde Mukt Raste Abhiyan’ where Parvati residents can send photos of the bad road conditions & send them to NCP Party’s contact number.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ashwini Nitin Kadam, NCP Party Politician & Ex Corporator, Parvati area, said “We have started this campaign since 7th October 2023 where more than 200 photos of potholes, bad road conditions etc have come to us from residents of Parvati area. We are currently doing this campaign on a trial basis starting from Parvati area as we all know that the entire Pune city is laden with potholes. Since our constituency fall under Parvati area, this campaign has begun from Parvati. However, we are going to implement this campaign in the entire Pune city. We are doing this campaign through the Urban Cell of NCP Party.”
Nitin Kadam, Urban Cell Head, NCP Pune, said “We are next moving with this campaign towards the areas of Vadgaon Sheri & Kothrud as we have already appealed to residents in those areas to send photos of potholes & bad road conditions. Also, the junior engineers of those areas will be felicitated with Shawl & Coconut to let him/her know about the bad road conditions & his/her efficiency to fill the potholes etc.”
As per further information, due to the rain that fell in the last few days since Ganeshotsav, the form of drains on the road, potholes and rain gutters as well as drainage has caused a lot of trouble for the Pune Municipal Corporation. Photos were asked from the citizens for problems related to road and drainage in the area.
More than 200 photos were sent by the citizens. The Urban Cell has sent a photo collage of the potholes and a statement of the problems regarding drainage were given to the PMC regional officers in Parvati, Bibvewadi, Ambedkarnagar, Upper-Indiranagar, Mahesh Society area in Bibwewadi.
NCP Party has stated that if the said problems are not resolved soon, a strong protest will be conducted.
