The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has collected ₹1,411 crore in property tax revenue for the financial year 2025–26, with over 7.75 lakh property owners availing the 5% rebate scheme.

This year’s collection is slightly lower than last year’s ₹1,415 crore, when 7.87 lakh property owners had taken advantage of the same rebate. The civic body began distributing property tax bills on May 1 and initially offered the rebate till June 30. Following requests from citizens facing payment challenges, PMC extended the deadline to July 7.

According to Avinash Sakpal, Deputy Commissioner of the Property Tax Department, of the total amount collected, ₹396 crore came from 87,000 property owners who paid via cheque, ₹138 crore from 1.4 lakh owners who paid in cash, and ₹881 crore from 5.47 lakh owners who paid online.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government’s 40% concession on residential property tax for self-occupied single properties benefitted 1.25 lakh new property owners this year. These beneficiaries submitted the PT-3 form to claim the rebate.
