Many train passengers in India have been using social media to highlight the poor conditions of trains, which are plagued by overcrowding and ticketless travelers taking up seats.

This situation is causing major inconvenience and frustration for those who have paid for their reservations. Recently, Gandharv Vinayak Rai shared his dissatisfaction with X regarding the state of an AC coach on the Poorva Express train. He posted a video that showcased the overcrowded conditions, particularly near the toilet and in the aisle of the coach.

In the video, numerous passengers without reservations were seen sitting on the floor and sharing seats with those who had booked them. Rai expressed that the AC coach looked more like a general compartment, raising concerns about service quality despite the higher costs associated with AC travel. He also noted that he had filed a complaint through Rail Madad, receiving the complaint number 2024121005214. However, after waiting for 45 minutes, Rai claimed he had not received any response or help from the Railways.

Railway Seva replied to the video, recognizing the passenger’s concerns and promising to do their best to help. However, Rai later shared an update indicating that the Railways had closed his complaint without any verification. His post quickly went viral, attracting numerous comments from users who expressed their anger and frustration over the issue. One user commented, “Railways should be made access controlled like airports, only ticket holders should be allowed on the platform.” Second commented, “Don’t expect any resolution, no matter what your concern is, they have one fixed robotic response. Escalated and apology.”

Others criticized the Railways for its “robotic responses” and lack of genuine efforts to address the woes of passengers.
