A pani puri order gone wrong led to high drama on the streets of Vadodara, Gujarat, when a woman staged an unusual protest that brought traffic to a standstill for hours.

The incident took place near Sursagar Lake, a busy area in the city. According to the usual rate, street vendors serve six pani puris for ₹20. However, when a woman received only four for the same price, she lost her cool. Furious over being cheated, she sat down right in the middle of the road and began protesting loudly, demanding either her missing two pani puris or the removal of the vendor’s stall.

The scene quickly attracted attention from passersby. What began as a personal dispute soon spiraled into a public spectacle, with vehicles piling up and traffic on the busy stretch coming to a complete halt. Onlookers recorded videos of the unusual protest, which spread rapidly on social media.

Crying and visibly angry, the woman accused the pani puri seller of repeatedly short-changing her and claimed he often quarreled with her. She insisted that he was deliberately targeting her and demanded that his cart be shut down immediately. Despite several attempts by bystanders and locals to calm her down, she refused to budge from the road.

As the traffic jam worsened, police were called to the spot. Officers tried to reason with the woman, but she remained adamant. After much effort, the police finally had to lift her off the road to restore order and clear the traffic.

The bizarre protest quickly became the talk of the town. While many people laughed at the odd reason behind the disruption, calling it an “only in India” moment, others pointed out that the woman was simply demanding what she had paid for. Some social media users jokingly dubbed it the “pani puri revolution,” while others criticized her behavior as extreme and unnecessary.

In the end, the unusual protest highlighted just how far a small grievance can escalate in public spaces. For Vadodara residents, it was a day when a plate of pani puri brought the city to a halt.
