Pal – Ek Lamha – A Painting Exhibition Showcases Celebration of Cherished Bonds 

Pune – The beauty of childhood lies in the memories woven by innocence and exploration, shaping the individuals we become. Vesavar Art Gallery’s new solo show “Pal – Ek Lamha” by young and upcoming artist Monica Ghule, is inspired by the magic of youth, her personal perspective on the preciousness of relationships and the imprints they leave on our lives.

The “Pal – Ek Lamha” exhibition at Vesavar Art Gallery was inaugurated on October 1st by the esteemed Rotary District Governor, Manju Fadke. 

Manju Fadke, in her role as District Governor, found a deep resonance with the theme, appreciating the way it captures the essence of a woman’s growth and the significant relationships that shape her life. The event welcomed attendees to engage with the art and blended into the narrative that mirrors the shared experiences of many.

The dreamscapes created with acrylic on canvas incorporate childhood motifs that are relatable for the viewer – ducklings, toy trains, rubber tyre swings, that one precious doll that went everywhere with the child, plaited hair tied up with the ubiquitous red ribbon, a puppy inseparable from the child. 

With each vivid motif, Monika delves deep into the imagination and brings the viewer face to face with snippets of joy. 

Observe carefully and you will notice the quiet conversation between the foreground and background on her canvases. There is a story weaved into each background using evocative imagery of butterflies, leaves and flowers. The interplay of colors makes both the subject of the painting and the background find equal prominence, while retaining a sense of harmony between the two.

Childhood memories are close to treasures, holding within them a world of wonder, curiosity, and learning. Monica believes that the experiences from our early years form an essential part of our existence, setting the stage for the future. 

The canvas becomes a vessel, encapsulating the journey through these. From paintings centered around motherhood and sibling dynamics to a beautiful integration of the relationship with their own child, her evolution is a tale of profound emotional connectivity.

Monica shares, “My paintings are a mirror to the relationships I hold dear. They are my way of summarizing the beauty of love and companionship. Every stroke represents a memory, and every aspect reflects an emotion.”

Through art, Monica Ghule  immortalizes the joy, love, and harmony of relationships, allowing viewers to embark on a nostalgic journey down memory lane.
