Bengaluru, May 8, 2025: A passenger was deboarded from Air India flight AI-2820 at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru, on Wednesday evening amid intensified nationwide security following India’s recent military action under ‘Operation Sindhoor’.

The flight, bound for New Delhi and scheduled to depart at 6:05 PM, was delayed after security personnel acted on unspecified concerns linked to the passenger. While the exact nature of the threat remains undisclosed, the move comes in the wake of heightened airport vigilance triggered by the Indian Air Force’s precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The airstrikes were a response to the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 civilian lives.

According to PTI, an Air India official confirmed the deboarding but declined to provide further details due to the sensitive nature of the case. “We are aware of the incident but will not share any details. Deboarding is never routine and is done only when there is a specific concern.”

Airports across India are currently on high alert, with several northern airports facing temporary closures or restricted operations. In line with these developments, Kempegowda International Airport has issued a general advisory to passengers, warning of potential flight delays and cancellations. Travelers have been urged to confirm flight statuses prior to departure.
