Pune, January 3, 2025: A 20-year-old passenger was robbed of ₹6,000 by an autorickshaw driver and his accomplice near Pune Railway Station. The incident occurred when the driver lured the victim under the pretext of providing a ride but instead took him to a secluded spot and looted him.

The victim, a resident of Chakan, arrived in Pune early on December 30 for work. At the Tukaram Shinde parking area near Pune Station, he hailed an autorickshaw and requested to be dropped at his destination. The driver, accompanied by another individual, diverted the passenger to an isolated area. They then verbally abused and assaulted him, forcibly taking ₹1,200 in cash from his pocket.

Not stopping there, the duo demanded more money. The terrified victim was coerced into transferring ₹4,900 online. After securing the amount, the culprits fled, leaving the passenger stranded. The shaken victim later approached the Bund Garden Police Station and lodged a complaint.
