PCMC Deploys Lifeguards At 27 Immersion Ghats For Safety Amid Ganeshotsav 2025Â
Pimpri, August 29, 2025: To ensure public safety during the Ganesh immersion period, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Fire Department has made special preparations. The festival, which began on August 27, will continue until September 6, 2025.
Considering the heavy footfall at immersion ghats, PCMC has planned extensive safety measures at all 27 official sites. Each ghat is equipped with life jackets, life rings, ropes, megaphones, and other necessary rescue equipment. Lifeguards will wear identifiable aprons provided by the fire department. Rescue vehicles, rubber boats, and emergency response teams will be stationed near the ghats.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to follow safety guidelines, avoid entering deep water, and keep children away from riverbanks. Cooperation with rescue teams and police is essential for a safe immersion process.
Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil emphasized that citizen safety remains the top priority, while Assistant Commissioner Umesh Dhakne confirmed that trained teams and necessary rescue equipment are fully prepared for emergencies.
