PCMC Gears Up For Ashadhi Wari Procession
Pimpri, June 14, 2024 – To ensure there are no shortcomings in the services and facilities provided for the Ashadhi Wari Palanquin Procession, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil has instructed the municipal administrative machinery to meticulously plan and coordinate their efforts. This will help conduct the palanquin procession in a joyful atmosphere.
The revered Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Ashadhi Wari Palanquin Processions will arrive in Pimpri Chinchwad city in the coming days. Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil inspected the reception areas, rest stops, and pathways of the procession. He provided necessary instructions to the concerned officers regarding the arrangements being made by the municipal corporation.
During the inspection tour, Additional Commissioner Ulhas Jagtap, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, Assistant City Engineer Pramod Ombhase, Deputy Commissioner Ravikiran Ghodke, Anna Bodade, Nilesh Bhadane, Regional Officer Sucheta Pansare, Sitaram Bahure, Umesh Dhakane, Assistant Commissioner Vijaykumar Thorat, Chief Security Officer Uday Jarande, Chief Disaster Management Officer Omprakash Bahiwal, Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad, Executive Engineer Ganesh Deshpande, Babasaheb Galbale, Dilip Dhumal, Rajendra Shinde, Vinay Ohol, and other officials were present.
The procession route begins at Bhakti Shakti in Nigdi, where a reception center is set up by the municipal corporation. Jambhale Patil reviewed the arrangements at this location. He also inspected the rest stop for Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palanquin at Vitthal Temple in Akurdi and at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Urdu Secondary School, where processions will be halted. Instructions were given to provide necessary facilities at these locations. Inspections were also conducted at Vitthal Rukmini Temple in Khadakwadi, Nashik Phata Road, and the Dapodi Palkhi Rest Stop.
Special arrangements for women, such as Hirakani centers, will be made. Disaster management measures necessary for the monsoon, addressing open drains, inspecting and taking action on all hoardings, placing directional signs at prominent locations, and appointing independent coordinators at necessary points on the procession route were also discussed.
Furthermore, Jambhale Patil emphasized the need for drinking water management, availability of ambulances for emergency medical facilities, filling potholes on the procession route, and ensuring adequate mobile toilet facilities at rest stops and along the route. Various departments, including construction, electricity, water supply, health, gardens, education, security, and disaster management, were instructed to coordinate and complete the necessary preparations for the procession.
