PCMC kickstarts Covid19 vaccination drive for senior citizens; facility available at eight hospitals

A nationwide vaccination drive has stepped up as the municipal corporations have been given a green signal to vaccinate the senior citizen and senior citizen comorbid group. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal corporation has kickstarted the vaccination drive for the senior citizens aged 60 years and above, and the comorbid citizens between 45 – 60 years old.

According to the information provided by the PCMC, the vaccine jab drive began in Jijamata Hospital in Bhosari. Along with Political figures, Officials and additional health chief, Dr. Pavan Salve, the civic commissioner, Rajesh Patil, too, was present while initiating the drive. Additional Health Chief, Dr. Pavan Salve, while talking to Pune Pulse, said, “The people who are stepping ahead for the vaccination are requested to first register themselves for the vaccination through COWIN app. Unregistered individuals will not be given the jab under any circumstances. This is applicable for private and government hospitals, both.”

Additional information suggest that the PCMC has given a charge to eight city hospitals for carrying out the drive. The list carries, YCM Hospital, New Government Hospital Bhosari, New Jijamata Hospital, Krantijyoti Savitri Bai Phule Hospital, Chinchwad, Pimple Nilakh Hospital, Kasarwadi Hospital, Yamuna Nagar hospital, ASI Hospital.
