Pimpri-Chinchwad, July 10, 2025: In a decisive move to make Pimpri-Chinchwad a more planned and citizen-centric city, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched an intensified citywide drive against illegal constructions, encroachments, and unauthorized developments.

At a high-level review meeting held on Thursday, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh directed all zonal officers and beat inspectors to take immediate and uncompromising action against violations. Officers have been instructed to curb unauthorized constructions at the initial stages itself. Any delay in reporting or failure to act will lead to strict suspension proceedings. Notices issued to violators will carry a 24-hour compliance deadline.

A follow-up review meeting is planned within a week to assess the progress of the operation. “Visible results on the ground are non-negotiable,” the Commissioner stated.

The drive will also prioritize clearing footpaths and public roads of vendor encroachments and ensuring that major corridors and public spaces remain free from hoardings and flex boards.

PCMC has called on citizens to support the initiative by reporting illegal structures, vendor encroachments, hoardings, or flex boards within municipal limits. Citizens can share a clear photograph, exact location, and date of the image for swift action.

The municipal body has assured that every complaint will be taken seriously to transform Pimpri-Chinchwad into a livable and well-planned urban center.
